Morning tea celebrations were enjoyed today as the Member for Cranbourne,
Mr Jude Perera, together with Oak Tree Group officially opened the newly
completed 51 villa Oak Tree Lifestyle Village at 20 McCormicks Rd, Skye.
The independent lifestyle village for the over 55's has taken some 18
months to complete but is considered by residents well worth the wait as interest in the village steadily builds.
Oak Tree are offering two bedroom villa's and subsequently the village represents value for money providing brand new, independent villas in a secure gated community conveniently located across from the new Centro shopping centre.
Mr Perera said the village is a valuable asset to the Skye and surrounding
regions providing quality homes for our older population.
"I'm impressed by the village and the way in which the village community is
forming," said Mr Perera.
"Contrary to the connotations associated with the words retirement and
ageing, these types of villages are not necessarily built for people to
grow old in, infact the care-free lifestyle, friendships and security on
offer here often perform the opposite effect and help people grow young
again.
"The residents have a wonderful life here with access to a variety of
facilities and services including a hair dressing salon, consultation room,
bowls green, BBQ entertainment areas and a friendly Village Manager
providing assistance wherever she can."
The village offers the opportunity for seniors to downsize but still
maintain their independence and freedom, and enjoy the peace of mind bought
about by living in a secure gated community with people of a similar age
and with similar interests.
Moving into the village is a great way to meet new friends, try new
activities, and share in some laughter, said Oak Tree Director, Mr Marco De
Pasquale at the morning tea.
"Retirement means something different to everyone - to us it means a time
to enjoy," he said.
"People look out for one another here and there is always something on -
whether it be enjoying a hearty pumpkin soup together at a group lunch in
the community Enjoyment Centre, singing loud and proud at a karaoke night,
or enjoying a game of bowls on the green, the village helps keep our
residents active and young."
The display villas are opened daily and residents can choose from a variety
of different purchase options designed to suit their financial
requirements.
The Skye village is just one in the Oak Tree Group's port folio with other
villages located in Brisbane and North Queensland, and soon to commence
sites in NSW and Tasmania.
