Cranbourne Electorate Achievements
EDUCATION:
Reducing Class sizes and Boosting Resources: In 2008 there were 8795 students at government schools in the Cranbourne electorate (a 22.6% increase since 1999).
As at June 2008, the number of teaching and administrative staff in government schools in Cranbourne was 790 FTE. This is a 52.2% increase since June 1999.
INVESTMENT IN LOCAL SCHOOLS
Since 1999, $32.7 million has been invested in schools in the Cranbourne electorate. Of this investment, $12.0 million has been provided by the federal government. Some of the improvements to local schools in the Cranbourne electorate include:
- Belvedere Park Primary School: Better Schools Today (General purpose classroom upgrade). Project cost $400,000 approved in 2007/2008.
- Carrum Downs Primary School: Better Schools Today (Reconfigure separate infant block). Project cost $400,000 approved in 2007/2008.
- Carrum Downs Secondary College: New Schools (New School Stage 1). Project cost $4,700,000 (Federal contribution of $2,000,000) approved in 2002/2003.
- Carrum Downs Secondary College: New Schools (New School Stage 2). Project cost $5,300,000 (Federal contribution of $2,000,000) approved in 2003/2004.
- Carrum Downs Secondary College: New Schools (New School Stage 3). Project cost $5,100,000 (Federal contribution of $1 ,800,000) approved in 2004/2005.
- Cranbourne East P-12 School: Partnerships Victoria in Schools (New School - PPP). Approved in 2008/2009.
- Cranbourne North East Primary School: Partnerships Victoria in Schools (New School - PPP). Approved in 2008/2009.
- Cranbourne Secondary College: Computer POD. Project cost $130,800 approved in 2001/2002.
- Cranbourne Secondary College: Modernisation (Stage 1 - Staff Administration, Information Technology, General Purpose Classrooms, Music). Project cost $2,280,000 (Federal contribution of $774,000) approved in 2005/2006.
- Cranbourne Secondary College: Funding For Excellence - Leading Schools Funds (CHOICE (Cranbourne's Higher Order Integrated Curriculum Experience), focus on Year 9 (refurbishment)). Project cost $486,000 approved in 2006/2007.
- Cranbourne West Primary School: Minor Works (Staff Toilets). Project cost $58,915 approved in 2000/2001.
